Carl started his career at Ernie Smith & Sons as a helper, gradually taking on more responsibilities and becoming one of the fastest shinglers on the team. He eventually got involved in sales and took over the company from Ernie in 2007. Over the past two decades, Carl has elevated the company to new heights in both residential and commercial roofing.

With qualifications and memberships in various roofing industry associations like Gerard, GAF, National Roofing Contractors Association, and Roofing Contractors Association of Texas, Carl is recognized as a leader in his field.

In his day-to-day role, Carl is involved in multiple aspects of the company, always striving to do the right thing and upholding the golden rule. He has a clear vision for the company’s direction and finds motivation in helping people and excelling in every aspect of the business. Outside of work, Carl enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Stephanie, and their five children. He indulges in cooking steaks on the grill and making s’mores over bonfires in the field. Additionally, Carl is passionate about angling and the great outdoors.
